We recently informed you that the bank’s fees are changing, with new fee conditions for some of our services coming into effect on 1 April 2024.
But what’s changing? Do these changes affect you? Full details can be found below.

Account maintenance/closing balance fees

This affects you if you are a client (natural person or legal entity) and if you have:

  • A current account outside of the Essential, Comfort Exclusive, Essentiel, Non-Profit Organisation, Essentiel Professional or Essentiel Entrepreneur packs;
  • A savings account and you are aged 30 or older;
  • A mortgage or investment loan.

From now on, you will be billed €5 for each account statement. If you have a mortgage and you receive your account statements by post, each account statement will cost you €7.40.

Charges for account statements sent by post

This affects you if you still receive a paper copy of your account statement and if:

  • You are between 18 and 74 years of age
  • Or if you are a client (natural person or legal entity) and if you have a current account outside of the Essentiel packs

The fee is made up of the cost of postage (costs depend on where you live and can be checked on the POST website under Our postage rates – POST) and a surcharge of 50 cents to cover paper and printing costs.
In other words, if you live in Luxembourg, you’ll need to pay €1.50 (€1.00 + €0.50) per account statement to receive your account statements by post.

You can avoid these fees by switching to our paperless service and choosing to receive digital statements. This service is completely free and secure, and you can access it via Web Banking or the app. Just take a look at our page Online bank statements | BGL BNP Paribas if you need help switching.

Clients aged under 18, and those aged 75 and older, will still have the option of receiving their statements by post free of charge.

Cost to replace a card before expiry

This affects you if:

  • You are at least 18 years old or you are a legal entity client
  • You wish to replace your card before it expires because it has been lost or damaged or if you wish to change the name that appears on your card.

From now on, you will now pay €18 per replaced card.

Fees for manual changes involving SEPA credit transfers

This affects you if:

  • You are at from 18 to 74 years of age or you are a legal entity client;
  • You want to make a credit transfer and you need the help of a BGL BNPP employee;
  • The account beneficiary of your credit transfer is either:
    • A third-party BGL account;
    • An account located in the SEPA and involves less than EUR 125,000;
  • Your credit transfer is made in EUR.

You will now pay €5 for a BGL-BGL credit transfer and €7 for a credit transfer in EUR to another bank in the SEPA.
Use your Web Banking or your app under the ‘transfer’ menu; you can set up a one-off transfer or standing order free of charge, whether the beneficiary is known to you or not.

Fees for transfers to accounts located outside the SEPA and/or in foreign currency

This affects you if:

  • You are a client (natural person or legal entity)
  • You want to make a credit transfer in foreign currency and/or to an account located outside the SEPA

For electronic transfers, the rate will be 0.15% of the amount with a minimum of €10 and a maximum of €180. If, however, the beneficiary account of your transfer is located at one of the subsidiaries of the BNPP Group, the rate will be €7 regardless of the amount of your credit transfer.

For manual transfers, the rate will be 0.20% of the amount with a minimum of €15 and a maximum of €200. If, however, the beneficiary account of your credit transfer is located at one of the subsidiaries of the BNPP Group, the rate will be 0.20% of the amount with a minimum of €12 and a maximum of €15.

Fees for manual operations involving standing orders

This affects you if:

  • You are between 18 and 74 years of age and you visit a branch to ask a manager to manually set up or change a standing order.

From now on, there will be a €7 charge for all manual operations involving standing orders. Please note: you can set up/change/delete a standing order free of charge through the Web Banking app.

Use your Web Banking or app now: You can adjust the amount, the timing or even cancel your standing order using these digital tools to manage all of your one-off transfers and standing orders free of charge.

Fee for notice of non-execution of a payment owing to insufficient funds

This affects you if:

  • You receive a notice informing you that a standing order/direct debit could not be executed due to an insufficient balance

You will now pay €7 per statement generated. You can set up alerts and notifications via your Web Banking app in order to see when your account falls below a certain threshold: create your own alert system to avoid these costs – don’t put it off!

Branch deposit fees

This affects you if:

  • You want to deposit money in EUR at a branch counter.

Deposits in EUR are now free.
