How do I log in to the Web Banking app for the first time if I do not have a LuxTrust Mobile certificate? 

 

The Web Banking app uses two-factor authentication with LuxTrust Mobile to secure your account and confirm your identity. To log in to the app for the first time, you must, beforehand:

 

     

 

 

How do I use the Web Banking app for the first time if I already have a LuxTrust Mobile certificate? 

 

If you already have an active LuxTrust certificate and the LuxTrust Mobile app is already installed on your smartphone, please mention this to your adviser when you sign the remote banking agreement.

When you first visit the Web Banking website, you will be requested to enter the details of your SSN (LuxTrust certificate) and follow the steps needed to link your certificate to your account. Please do the following:

  • log in to bgl.lu to link your LuxTrust certificate to your account;
  • finish your account activation by staying on bgl.lu.

Logged in before?  How do I log in to the Web Banking in the future?

  • Open the Web Banking app installed on your smartphone or tablet with your login details:
    • your user ID is composed of 4 letters (the first two letters of your surname and first name) and 4 digits;
    • your 6-digit secret code.
  • Confirm your identity by activating two-factor authentication on LuxTrust Mobile
    • Tap the QR code shown on the login screen;
    • Open the LuxTrust Mobile app that opens on your smartphone;
    • Confirm that it is really you logging in.

    How do I change my secret code?

    To change your secret code in the Web Banking app, go to “SETTINGS” in the menu. Select “Login & security area” and then “Change secret code”.

    1. Enter your current secret code.
    2. Enter your new secret code.
    3. Confirm your new secret code.

    How can I use facial recognition or my fingerprints to log in to the Web Banking app?

    You can log in to the Web Banking app using facial recognition or your fingerprints.

    1. Log in, then go to “SETTINGS” in the menu on the left-hand side.
    2. Tap “Login & security area”.
    3. Select:
      - Touch ID” or “Face ID” for an Apple device;
      - “Biometrics” for an Android device.
       

    You can now log in using facial recognition or your fingerprints rather than typing in your secret code.

How do I activate my LuxTrust Mobile account on my smartphone or tablet?

If you do not yet have a LuxTrust certificate, you first need to order one in order to activate your account. It is possible when you first log in to Web Banking at blg.lu. You will be sent your login details by text message.

If you already have a LuxTrust Mobile certificate, open the app and follow the instructions.

To activate your LuxTrust login details, open the LuxTrust Mobile app with:
  • your user ID, composed of 4 letters (the first two letters of your surname and first name) and 4 digits;
  • the 6-digit PIN that you chose when you activated LuxTrust Mobile.

  • Why do I need a LuxTrust certificate for some Web Banking procedures?

    The LuxTrust certificate is a digital certificate made up of a username and PIN code.

    This certificate is used for two-factor authentication to confirm your identity and secure your account. Each action is associated with a one-time password that secures “sensitive” banking business such as transfers to unidentified beneficiaries, access to secure messaging, etc.

    In the event of a phishing attack, two-factor authentication with the LuxTrust Mobile app will be extended to everything you do, to confirm your identity and check that you really are the instigator.

  • Do physical LuxTrust tokens still exist?

    Our partner, LuxTrust, is deactivating physical tokens on 31 December 2024. The LuxTrust Mobile app will be the only token available to confirm your identity and log in to Web Banking.

  • Loss or theft of your LuxTrust Mobile login details? What do you need to do?

    If your login details or smartphone are lost or stolen, call LuxTrust’s Client Service immediately on (+352) 24 550 550 to deactivate your current details; this service is available 24/7.

    A LuxTrust employee will check your identity and e-mail you a security code to cancel access to your old device. You will be requested to reset your LuxTrust account on a new smartphone and choose a new PIN code.

Your LuxTrust login details ensure optimum protection through a highly secure authentication system.

But you have an important role to play too! Never share your login details.Your bank will never ask you for this type of information by e-mail or SMS.

 

  • My certificate is about to expire. How do I order a new one?

    Your LuxTrust certificate is valid for three years. Shortly before your LuxTrust certificate expires, you’ll see a message with the expiry date in your Web Banking.

    Follow the steps shown to renew your certificate. You will be requested to confirm the information on your LuxTrust certificate (surname, first name, nationality, e-mail address, mobile phone number, etc.).

    It is important to renew your certificate before it expires so that you can keep logging in to Web Banking. Once renewed, your certificate will be valid for another three years. You can also renew an expired certificate directly on the LuxTrust website.

  • What are the technical requirements for using the LuxTrust Mobile app?

    The LuxTrust Mobile app is compatible with iOS 13 (or later) and Android 7 (or later).

if you have forgotten your LuxTrust login details, please contact LuxTrust on (+352) 24 550 550 to retrieve them.

Once you have received your login details, visit the LuxTrust website to retrieve your password.

    Technical problem with the Web Banking app? What you need to do

    If you have a technical problem with your Web Banking app:

    1. check that you are connected to the Internet;
    2. make sure you have the latest version of the app;
    3. restart your telephone or tablet.
       

    If none of this works, you can reset the app. If you still have a problem, call our Client Service on (+352) 42 42 - 2000 Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

Contact us on (+352) 49 10 10 to block your card.

You can also lock your card temporarily.
