The documents that can be accepted as proof of address are:
- A certificate of residence;
- A certificate of tax residence;
- Water bills;
- Electricity bills;
- Gas bills;
- Landline telephone bills (it must be clearly written that it is landline);
- A bill from an internet services provider;
- A TV subscription bill;
- A municipal tax bill (if the tax relates to a property, the property must be located at the same address as the person subject to the tax);
- An extended certificate of residence, provided that the certificate states that the person does indeed live at the address indicated;
- A sworn statement and proof of address with an official stamp and signature from the municipality;
- A tax notice (for income or wealth tax);
- A household composition certificate;
- Tax documents: Copies from the last tax year are accepted (copy of municipal tax or property tax). However, if the tax relates to a property, the property must be located at the same address as the person subject to the tax
- A recent printout of the chip from a Belgian identity document;
- A diplomatic card (provided the full address is included in the document)
- A Luxembourg residence permit (only if it was issued less than 3 months ago and shows your address);
- An EU residence permit (only if it was issued less than 3 months ago and shows your address);
- A waiting list (issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs);
- Proof of car, home or civil liability insurance;
- A residence certificate from the local authority or any public authority/administration;
- A certificate of permanent residence for an EU citizen;
- A residence certificate from an EU institution (e.g. the European Parliament);
- A certificate of registration under Directive 2004/38/EC;
- A confirmation of homelessness (exceptional circumstances);
- A Red Cross certification (exceptional circumstances);
- A retirement home certificate;
- A certificate of imprisonment;
- A declaration of arrival of a third-country national, for a stay of more than three months, for the period of validity indicated on the form (e.g. 6 months); at the end of this period, request for a new proof of address;
- A declaration of arrival of a third-country national for a stay of up to three months, for a period of 3 months following the date of issue of the document; at the end of this period, request for a new proof of address;
- A German identity document (exceptional circumstances)
- For legal entities, the extract from the Trade and Companies Register is equivalent to proof of residence.
