Grand finale of our centenary – next stop, the future!
2019 is drawing to a close and our centenary will soon be over too.
To round off the celebrations held to mark this special year, the Bank organised a talk entitled “Sustainable development: our responsibility for the future”. The talk took place on the Bank’s premises and was aimed at companies, policymakers and influencers.
Geoffroy Bazin, Chair of the Executive Committee of BGL BNP Paribas, introduced this prestigious event.
As our first guest, we were honoured to welcome Bertrand Piccard, Founder and Chair of the Solar Impulse Foundation, who spoke on “#1000solutions to protect the environment in a profitable way”.
This was followed by a panel discussion on “Sustainable development: a key aspect of strategic and decision-making processes for businesses”. Valérie Arnold (Partner, Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Leader, PwC Luxembourg), Antoine Sire (Director of Company Engagement and member of the Executive Committee of the BNP Paribas Group) and René Winkin (Managing Director of FEDIL) shared their thoughts on the topic.
Finally, Finance Minister Pierre Gramegna brought the evening to an end with a closing speech.
